All kinds - Finally an update
mood: In between joy and sadness
Hi all,
I decided an update was in place as it has been ages since I last wrote this journal.
Quite a lot of things are going on in our life right now, starting with:
We are going to move!!!
It's only 500 metres away from the flat we live in now, however: it's dad's house. This means it's completely with garden, garage, 2 floors and an attic!
Tiny moved out of the house already to a smaller flat and Angela's sister were glad we could buy the house. So...we started doing all of the paperwork and have heard a couple of days ago that the mortgage is definitely accepted. We already went to the shop to choose wallpaper and flooring for 2 rooms which we definitely will have to redo (wallpaper on the walls from 30 years ago which Angela did herself back then). Also the neighbourhood is very different, it feels much more village like with a lot of 'old' neighbours (still) there. It's so much quieter as well and with a nice view at the back out at the canal...
Then on to the not so very good/bad things:
Ria, Angela's aunt, is back in hospital again. Her leg didn't want to heal after the last operation (they took an artery from there and used it to replace a blocked vein in her neck). So now they really only had two options: not doing anything and basically just letting it rot (which is a slow and painful death) or amputating her whole leg. This is not without danger though as it could well be that her body/mind won't be able to survive this. So please spare a thought for us next Tuesday, as that's when they are going to operate. She has already made the decision that IF her heart stops they will have to let her go as she doesn't want to be recucitated.
Also: Our friend Kathy has just (yesterday) had an operation to remove her womb and everything around it as they discover cancer there. It seems to not have broken through, however we are still waiting to hear whether the cancer is benign or malign... a scary wait thus. It seems she's about 95% in the clear but that 5% is thus still out there.
And also Les (good friend of Kathy) has finally been to the doctor after a lot of people pushed him. It turns out that he has got skin cancer and will have an operation the 27th of July.
It really sucks that we can't be there for the both of them but we are definitely there in thought.
And of course for all our loved ones we are keeping our fingers crossed that all goes well with all of them, but I'm trying not to keep my hopes up too high.
Luckily we do have nice things on our mind to keep us busy with. As we have already written to the building cooperation that we want to move the 20th of July so this is the date we are going to hand in the key. No matter what happens, that's a set date and so enough to focus on.
I guess that's more than enough for now... It will be busy obviously but I will try to update more frequently. LOL You've heard that before, I know
Hugs,
Jacqueline
