Wow, I've just now realised it has been 10 days ago since I have last written this journal. I can't believe it is taking me so long, even though when dad was ill I updated every day. Probably it's just that life is running along so fast it's hard to keep up. Not that I do a lot of things (that's one of my problems) but just that when there is spare time I don't want to be looking at a computer screen anymore.
As you can already understand from the above: I'm tired! Yesterday I basically had a whole working day, 9 till 17:30 even though it was Saturday. Wanted to do that myself though, as most of my work had just kept on lying around and I wanted to get some overview again. Wanted to get rid of some backlash, at good as I possibly could. For one time I am actually proud of myself: I haven't succeeded with all of it, but at least most of it I am on top again. That's my feeling now: tomorrow everything might be different!
A lot of things are changing at work too. There are now 2 more people to help with admin projects which are important but which we didn't get around to due to too much work and not enough time. Hopefully they will stay after those project are complete, to help out on the day to day admin. They are also interviewing potential hopefuls for the function of assistent office manager. The plan is that that person will be in charge of the day to day activities, this instead of Frans so he can totally throw himself upon everything to do with a new computer system. Because of this the office downstairs will also change, basically putting the desks in a different way...and Frans has moved upstairs so I'm now downstairs with the two new girls... I'm excited about this though: as it means that it finally starts looking like a 'normal' company, if you know what I mean. I finally have got colleagues, instead of just 2 bosses (who are also colleagues obviously but they outrank me ;) ) I'm curious what I'll find when I arrive at the office tomorrow morning!
One of the new girls reminds me in a lot of ways about Becky, one of my colleagues at Randstad UK. She's also just quite chatty and a really bubbly personality. But I think she's also good at the job, and really dives into it. She has figured out most of the company and how we work in about half a day so that's pretty good! It's also really cool, as she is Canadian (although born in Czecheslovakia, so another interesting thing to talk about) she doesn't understand Dutch very well so we have to speak English. Which I hate of course... ;) Kidding, I just love it!!! It's so unbelievably cool, I really hope she will stay. Also because of the feeling that she reminds me of Becky, she's just as cool so hopefully that'll work out.
So, in the next couple of days/weeks we'll see what the office looks like and how many collegues I'll have then!
Enough for now, there was more stuff I wanted to tell you, but now that I'm actually typing this it doesn't seem significant enough. Will try to keep you up to date more often, but when I come home after work I've sorta seen enough computer screen for the day... I'm trying to better my life though, bear with me!
