Some relaxing (1st of May)

We are in quite a difficult time at the moment, but we do try to have some nice relaxing times in between. As I had not written about those yet I will do that now, because that's also nice to know for whoever is reading this journal.

Last weekend we had one of Angela's friends over who we don't see too often. She had not been here for a couple of years at least and I think last time we were over at her place was at least 1.5 years ago. She slept here from Saturday on Sunday and it was really nice. We talked to rather late at night and when we finally woke up on Sunday we just took it easy. We put her on the bus back home around noon.
Saturday during the day Angela's been working quite hard. She cleaned Carli and the 'hall' (before the front door), the front door and everyone else.

Sunday after our friend was gone we brought Carli to a storage. We can now put her off road and so have to pay a lot less tax so that will be a bit better financially. As at the moment we don't have any money repairing certian things and tax & insurance was quite expensive. This way we don't have to get rid of her and she's inside which is way better for her than standing outside in front of the house.

After we had done that we went to the club and when we arrived there everyone was sitting inside even though it was gorgeous weather. You know how it goes: One sheep and more following. That's exactly the way it happened: I went outside and soon enough all were sitting outside. When we went home around 17:30 we stayed in for a while, but I really wanted to go outside as the weather was still really good. As we hadn't eaten at the club we decided to go to the boulevard, eat some chips there and enjoy the sun. That's exactly what we did and it was really really nice! Those moments, sitting outside there on the boulevard in the sun (an almost deserted boulevard) it was like our problems didn't exist: like they had vanished. Of course this was not the case, but it was just so relaxing there!

Friday evening I have been to the beach with Martine. Yes, it was club evening but RCK had it's AGM this Friday and as it was a really good weekend again I didn't want to spoil it with an AGM. Martine liked the idea of going to the beach too, so she picked me up at 20:00 (just after Angela went to the AGM) and we went to the beach. It was almost deserted again, but really nice weather! We sat at one of the beach restaurants/bars and just drank something and chatted. It was so good: they had a couple of nice couches outside so we sat on there facing the sea and then just chatting. It's was so brilliant and relaxing! It had been quite some time since I'd really talked to her so this was perfect to hear all the stories about their holiday in America. We stayed there until they sat they would really close so could we please go home. This wasn't too late though: only about 10 PM. We drove straight to the club where the AGM was luckily already finished and ate something there while still chatting along. It was nice and relaxing and good to see a friend and talk to her again, as it had been a while. Also good that her boyfriend and Angela weren't there so you can gossip lots better... ;)

Today we have been to the radio club where once again everyone was sitting inside until I sat outside and everyone followed. After coming home I decided that I still wanted to sit outside and as it's now clean in front of the front door I put the chair over there and wrote my offline journal. Then came something that could work as a table and some time later Angela got herself a chair and also came sitting outside. It was in front of our door but it felt relaxing, I tell you! It almost felt like a short holiday, but meanwhile having everything in the vicinity! And when our upstairs neighbour saw us sitting like that he stopped by and we talked a bit. He even decided to get a bottle of bubbly wine from his fridge to share it with us! Of course that totally made our evening :)
I've been sitting outside like that from about 18:30 till about 21:45 and Angela joined me about 19:30. We're definitely going to do this more often! When it's good weather we're just going to eat our dinner outside on our front 'balcony'. It worked so much more relaxing then I thought: my eyes are so heavy now and I feel so sleepy but then in a good way. I just wanted to tell you all that!

Before I sign off I just want to thank our friends and mum & dad. It helps to know there are people who we can talk to and who want to understand what we are going through. Thanks for being there for us, for me, we do not only need it but also appreciate it greatly!

Now it's off preparing my lunch and then it's time for bed... We're definitely going to use the balcony more often now, it's so relaxing and I only now figured this out after living here for more than six years...lol
