Oklahoma anniversary (19th of April)

Right before going to bed I do want to post this little bit of news.

Today it was exactly 10 years ago that the bomb attack in downtown Oklahoma City killed 168 people. It was the worst act of domestic terrorism in US history and it was even plotted by an American citizen!

As you will see when you go to our America pictures in the gallery we have visited the memorial and were silent by the sheer scale of the devastation and especially by the personal stories inside the tragedy. That is why I want to have a moment of reflection today in my journal (also especially because good friends of us who live in Oklahoma were personally affected) and I want to do this with the words from the Oklahoma City national memorial:

We come here to remember those who were killed, those who survived and those changed forever.
May all who leave here know the impact of violence.
May this memorial offer comfort, strenght, peace, hope and serenity.
